Caring for the Inner Child Notes

Caring for the Inner Child

  • Positive childhood experiences more often equates to optimism.
  • Negative childhood experiences more often equates to pessimism.
  • Gray area can be considered as mixture: black & white, past & future.
  • Defense mechanism: “I don’t want to talk about it.”
  • The link (or chain) to both is embedded in the past which results in cycles of routine behavior.
  • Past rejections can result in rebellion against authority.
  • First you have to deal with your inner child.
  • Lay a foundation of trust through consistency: Building others up causes them to move forward.
  • Walls that have been built from the past are barriers to breakthrough.
  • Recognize the past, relate to the person, respect the person and restore their life.

Mind Mapping Notes on Anger

Today I’ve attached two pictorials I created from a training I attended on December 16, 2011. I decided to use the “Mind Mapping” technique because there are times when training can get tiresome due to all the information that is given.  I believe that anytime you received training, especially when it is “FREE,” value should be placed on it. Many of us don’t place value on things because of this very reason. My thoughts concerning both trainings are located under the pictorials. The first training was on, “How to Identify and Cope with Anger.” The second training was on, “Caring for the Inner Child.” I will attach the notes on this training in my next blog post.

Enjoy and Be a Blessing!

How to Identify and Cope with Anger

Anger

  • Identify you hot buttons: What causes you to get angry?
  • Sarcasm (manipulation), offense, disrespect: (Don’t let people push your hot buttons).
  • Recognize anger in others: Be angry, and sin not.
  • Emotions are neutral: It’s what you do with the emotions that make them positive (forward) or negative (backward).
  • Personalization is the root of anger: Don’t take it so personal.
  • Realize your identity: You are not an angry person, but sometimes you get angry.
  • What you feel is not who you are.
  • Consistent anger is connected (a chain) to identity,
  • Anger can cloud your perception (places veil on you r understanding).
  • Agreement and patience are keys.

A blueprint for financial Success (No matter the economy)

In this post I would like to briefly explore a four step strategy for financial success. Many people in Kingdom today believe that the strength of the world’s economy is the number one factor in whether or not they prosper. This is the furthest thing from TRUTH. The status of the economy doesn’t determine your financial future, especially when you are a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven. Psalms 1 let’s us know that the financial seasons that pass over the earth will not effect the righteous. With this in mind let’s look briefly at a blueprint for financial success.

1.) Vision- Proverbs 29:18a Where there is no vision, the people perish.
One of the meanings for the Hebrew word Perish (Para- strongs #6544) is to “cast off restraints” or to let loose of restraints. Many times when we don’t have an overall vision for our financial future we spend frivolously, abd bring destruction to our financial future. You must have a overall blueprint for what you want to accomplish financially. The first step in that plan should be submitting your finances to the Government of God. How much will you invest in the kingdom,
what will your savings look like, what investments will you participate in, what do you want your debt to income ratio to be, what do you want your cashflow to expenses to be. These are some of the things that comprise an overall comprehensive financial vision for you and your family. Without a vision obtaining your dream of financial freedom can perish.

2.) Action- Although behaviors are not the most important factor in becoming financially free (changing your mind set about money IS) you do need to implement certain behaviors that will help you realize your vision. If your vision is your “address” in terms of where you want to live financially, your behaviors are your directions. Please be advised however the number ONE thing that will impact your behaviors is your mentality. You must tear down old unproductive mind sets concerning money in order to change your behavior.

3.) Accountability- It is very important for you to partner with someone who you can share your financial goals and vision with in order to keep you on track. Many times as we are transitioning from one financial state to another we can become discouraged and weary. Partnering with a financially responsible individual or someone you trust will help you through these times.

4.) Education- Financial education is one of the most important things you can acquire when trying to change your financial future. Education is actually of more value than money. Education will help you maintain the resources your building. We have all seen individuals who win the lottery, or sports stars who come into a large fortune and quickly lose all the money they come into, due to a lack of financial education. Continuing to educate yourself is invaluable. As we mentioned in the action portion of this article, financial education deals with your mentality about money, and in order for your financial situation to change you must think differently. Exposing yourself to other individuals path to financial freedom and learning all you can about finances will be a major asset in helping you prosper.

It is my earnest belief that as kingdom citizens we should not be subject to the financial seasons that pass over the earth, but you must acknowledge God first in your finances and execute the plan he releases to you. When you do that
being concerned with the status of the economy will not be a priority for you. Besides it is His will that you PROSPER.
John 10:10b
I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.

The Thought of Retirement

“You can quit what you do, but you cannot quit who you are.” – Apostle Steven Moffett

The thought of retirement is one that I don’t personally entertain. It would be quite difficult (not to mention awkward) for me to retire on or from PURPOSE. My assignment is at my job (or workplace), it is who I am and what I do. If I were to separate my assignment from my job (or workplace) then it would be considered merely as “WORK.” However, when I complete the assignment at the job (or workplace) then promotion occurs and God will send me to another location and to another group of people. So… the purpose of a job is not just the work that is produced nor is it about the wages that are earned or the money that is made, it is about bringing liberation to a specific group through reformation and restoration. This exploit is accomplished through the distribution of your time, talent or treasure and is an ongoing process. Therefore, retirement is not an option to someone who is at a job ON PURPOSE.

We are always at “WORK” because the “WORK” that needs to be completed (The People) in order to be produced (The Fruits of Our Labor) is on the inside of us. Many individuals have “WORKED” for ten, twenty, thirty or more years for the mere purpose of retirement. Without conducting any form of research I can assume that many of these retirees become bored (due to the routine of idleness) and stagnate (in their personal growth & development). These circumstances motivate them to go back to “WORK” which is a mishap in their thinking.

Anything that becomes stagnate dies…
And those who do not utilize accurate thinking are at the mercy of their circumstances……

If you go back to “WORK” you go back to a previous train of thought that will “PRODUCE” the same result or outcome. You cannot go back to something that is on the inside of you, however you must become consciously aware and educated on what you have been called to do which is “TO PRODUCE.”

Let us move forward ON PURPOSE and discover what God has called us to do at our jobs – THIS IS YOUR ASSIGNMENT.
Work is beyond doing… It is about becoming the change you want to see.

“Time IS Money”

Financial Etiquette

It is of great important that I release this to you being that we are on the cusp of income tax season…

Many of the thoughts that I will share can be referenced back to the likes of Napoleon Hill, Jim Rohn and Apostle Steven Moffett. These individuals have paved the way in our hearts and minds with finances and life in general. So, I ask you to open up your mind and your heart to this new IN-FOR-MATION.

Enjoy!

Debt

No man can do his best work, no man can express himself in terms that command respect, no man can either create or carry out a definite purpose in life with heavy debt hanging over his head. The man who is bound in slavery of debt is just as helpless as the slave who is bound by ignorance, or by actual chains.

Napoleon Hill

Debt is the symptom that is indicative of a poverty mindset. Poverty is a parasite that sucks the life out of our resources. We combat any sickness that causes us to stagger or stumble  at the promises of God with proper usage.

We don’t correct misuse by no use, we correct misuse by proper usage.

Apostle Steven Moffett

According to Napoleon Hill there are two classes of debt:

1. Debt accrued from luxuries that result in a dead loss
2. Debt incurred in the course of professional or business trading which represent a service or merchandise that can be converted back into assets

The kingdoms of this world have deemed a high accumulation of material possessions as elite status or prestige. Many who are under this circumstance of thinking accrue debt from luxuries that result in a dead loss.

These individuals are those who lack “Financial Etiquette.” “Financial Etiquette” is the proper usage of  The UTENSIL that leads to the maximum utilization of money. Money is your employee, therefore you are a manager. Money can work for you or money can work against you. Whether your money works for or against you, it is completely dependent on The Utensil which is your thoughts concerning money.  Money is also a medium of exchange that is “Invested” or “Spent” that “Adds To” or “Takes Away” from the livelihood of an individual or a group of people.

To have a lack of understanding concerning money is disrespect for money

Apostle Steven Moffett

Some of us abuse and mismanage our employees. We do not have an intimate relationship with the employee nor do we have what they can do for us…

Who is your favorite employee? George Washington, Benjamin Franklin or Theodore Roosevelt.

Many of the so called, “Wealthy” people are those who are in positions where their lives are being magnified and examined. They are not truly “Wealthy”, there are merely celebrities who have been marketed into a position of notoriety. Their money accumulation is on a large scale, however their debt accumulation is much, much greater. Debt accumulation is not limited to the lack of finances.

Thus, the NBA lockout ensues….

The Habit of Savings

Our habitual thinking causes us to fathom how we are going to “Spend” our money in comparison to how we are going to “Save” our money. We have already “Spent” the money in our minds before it has even physically touched our hands.

The rule is that if a man follows a systematic habit of saving a definite proportion of all money he earns or receives in other ways, he is practically sure to place himself in position of financial independence. If he saves nothing, he is absolutely sure to never be financially independent, no matter how much his income may be.

Napoleon Hill

Financial empowerment leads to business opportunities that lead to financial freedom or independence.

More to come…
