Today we had the opportunity to work with nearly 200 educators from Huntley Middle School and DeKalb CUSD 428.
Mr. Crim led two sessions: How Black History Can Save Your Classroom: Teaching Cultural Content with Sensitivity and Stop Being So Sensitive: Culturally Responsive Teaching in Action.
Through the lens of How Black History Can Save Your Life and Scenario-Based Learning (SBL), we explored practical ways educators can facilitate culturally responsive conversations, connect history to student identity, and strengthen engagement in the classroom.
We completed two 1-hour presentations and a 90-minute facilitation session with thoughtful discussion and reflection throughout.
Thank you Dr. Treveda Shah, Huntley Middle School, and DeKalb CUSD 428 for the opportunity to work with your educators.
